Nothing is new here. Hosting of this domain is too unreliable to justify putting any significant work into repairing or updating what is here. I have been caught up in the wake of the herd mentality of humanity and now have a facebook presence. I don't even know how to link to that. I guess just go there and search for "Michael Kepler" if you really want to do so, and I can't imagine why you would. Up until a few months ago I blogged fairly regularly at the below-linked MySpace page. Since the migration, I have found Facebook "notes" to be a poor substitute, and see little point in trying to find another outlet for writing, and conveniently, also find that I no longer am afflicted with the conceit that I have anything worthy of being said. "All is vanity." I miss vanity. "This, too, shall pass." ("This" being the caring enough to miss things, and, of course, my pointless and tiny ration of time and substance.)
Everything is back, I think, but a lot of it is broken. Most of the bad links are due to links containing absolute URL addresses referencing the "tygerstudios.com" domain, which I no longer control. I fixed this top page, and the top page for the "Andy Warhol's Mars" content, but that's it so far. I'll get around to fixing the rest of it someday, maybe. Not sure what the point might be. Even more doubtful is the prospect of me updating or expanding on the content here, but who knows, maybe I'll get some random burst of motivation some day.
This is no longer the top page for kepler.net. This page can now be accessed via "http://michael.kepler.net" or "http://mookie.kepler.net", but since you are reading this, you probably already know this, or at least half of it.
I have been assimilated into the myspace.com collective. Hopefully this is just a phase that will pass soon. I used to be so DIY, and now I'm just another lazy idiotic drone. Currently, these all link out to my home server, which has slower upstream, but is easier for me to maintain. As I find what chokes my upstream, I'll migrate it back out to hosts with better upstream. Blah blah blah.
2002.11.02: Re-organized it so all the links I posted to the astro-list are wrong now. Just thought I should spend the whole night working really hard at doing something stupid. Must miss my old job or something. Anyway, now there are historical snapshots of my site and the official astroman site, but *still* nothing really new. Picked up that asterisks for *emphasis* habit just recently. Beats the hell out of ALL CAPS, or _fake_ _underlining_, huh? Never mind that italics and underlining and colors and blinking are all standard html ways of providing emphasis... I'm just too damned lazy to use them, but not too lazy to type and type nonsense all night... Wheeee!
